Mounting and suspension options
Surface mounting
There are three methods of surface
mounting:
Screw fixing directly to the ceiling (if
level). The maximum spacing of the
single mounting points is 1m with a
max load of 12 kg. If the spacing is
0.5m then the max. load is 30 kg. You
can use the direct screw method on
the MRE track to support ceiling tiles.
Mounting clips for when the ceiling
is uneven. The surface mounting kit is
available with 2 or 3 sets of fixings.
Each fixing comprises: 1 screw, 1
wall plug and 1 surface mount clip.
The maximum spacing for this option
is 1 m with a max load of 2kg. If the
spacing is 0.5 metres the max. load
is 3 kg. You can use the method to
support ceiling tiles.
T-bar clip mounting. The T-bar clip
attaches to the track through the pop
out section on the roof (rear?) of
the track unit. The T bar clip can be
adjusted to fit on any T-section above
20 mm. The spacing is 1m with the
max. load of 2 kg. If its below 0.5m,
then the max load is 3 kg.
Suspensions
Pendant Tube Kit
The main purpose of the tube
suspension kit is to run cable
discreetly and unobtrusively from the
ceiling to the feed.
The kit comes with a ceiling rose to
complete the look.
The tube screws directly into all
suspension clamps provided once
you remove the central nut, so the
cable can go through the tube and
suspension clamp straight into the
feed or feedable connector. The
pendant tube kit is 1 m long, but can
be cut to length on site, max spacing
is 1 m with a max. load of 5 kg.
If the spacing is 0.5 then the max.
load is 6 kg.
Threaded Suspension Rod Kit
The threaded rod kit is a mechanical
kit providing rigid support up
to 1 m. It comes with a ceiling
rose and the metal pole inside is
covered with a sleeve to avoid any
unwanted attention to the system.
The threaded rod screws straight into
the suspension clamp, the central
nut has a hole designed to allow
the threaded rod to screw in. The
maximum spacing recommended
is 1 m with the max load of 3 kg. If
its 0.5 m the max load is 4 kg. The
same applies to the steel cord kit.
Recessed mounting
Using MRE clips. The basics of a
recessed system is that the track
acts as a ‘T’ section. There are three
things required to suspend a ceiling
tile with track. Firstly, an MRE unit
which has a flanged edge to support
the tile. Secondly, MRE clips link the
track unit to the grid. Finally, if you
incorporate feeds and connectors
then MRE covers are required. These
metal covers replace the plastic
covers on the feeds, offering a
flanged edge which, like the track,
supports the ceiling tile and maintains
a continuous appearance.
Steel cord
The steel cord kit has three elements,
each performing a different role.
Firstly, the Steel cord comes in 2m or
5m versions. Included is a versatile
suspension dome that provides the
flexibility to suspend the system
from sloping ceilings of almost any
angle, furthermore you can suspend
from a point not directly above the
point of attachment on the track,
but the system must be balanced.
The suspension dome attaches to
either the track or ceiling. Finally, a
height adjustable lock allows easy
threading of the cable through the
lock and levelling. The lock can
screw directly into the suspension
clamps provided. If you wish to
attach the versatile suspension dome
to the track you must use the pop out
section on the roof of the track and
screw it on from there.

Suspension clamp are available in
forms either suitable for attaching
to track units or to feed connectors
There is a central nut that the steel
cord kit and threaded rod kit screws
into, or it can be removed to allow
access for the pendant tube kit
