TUNNEL VISION
With 270 stations and about 400 km (250
miles) of track, the London Underground
is the longest metro system in the world
by route length and has one of the highest
number of stations. In 2007, more than one
billion passenger journeys were recorded,
making it the third busiest metro system
in Europe.
Unitrunk completed a large scale cable
management contract with a wide range of
projects carried out on communications,
tannoy and fire systems. To date over 480
bespoke fittings have been created for
this project with all parts manufactured to
the London Underground’s own stringent
standards including multi-compartment
flexible trunking which was pioneered for the
first time.
