Classic period charm
70% of the nation’s housing was built in the Victorian era* and while some
people may decide to impose modern tastes/fashions on these properties,
others prefer to retain some of the original character. To achieve this you
need to look for those items that do so while conforming to today’s
regulations.
At a recently refurbished family home, one of many terraced houses built in
the Victorian and Edwardian era, the Cheriton range was installed, as not
only did the style complement the look of the house but, as the wall boxes
were shallow and rather than dig them out, the deeper plates of Cheriton’s
Victorian design were a perfect fit. The plates were in a satin steel finish
reflecting today’s fashions.
