Galleries are basically blank canvasses - and often quite skeletal. Items
shown vary from exhibition to exhibition - whether hoards, paintings, objects
or products. Utilities must be well planned to serve the ever changing
situation appropriately. Lighting and electrics are of paramount importance
but placing them in a large empty space is challenging.
Floor sockets strategically placed are an essential part of the mix. They allow
the localised introduction of object specific aural description, intense and
variable illumination and other display effects. However, they must be discreet
and safe within the flooring when they not called for. Not only can standard
13amp sockets be accommodated but also data and some TV outlets.
